- Conduct comprehensive searches to locate the most relevant prior art and provide a detailed search history
- Prepare written opinions that apply the most relevant prior art to the disclosures
- Maintain proficiency with commercial patent searching and proprietary databases
- Ensure compliance with the employer's Code of Business Ethics and Corporate Conduct
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, or a related field
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working with patents or in the intellectual property field
- Minimum of 1 year of work experience in the industry or advanced research in a related field
- Must pass USPTO background check and obtain Public Trust Clearance
- U.S. citizen or work-eligible legal resident who has resided in the U.S. for the last two years
- Previous patent examining or patent searching experience
- Highly skilled in developing search methodologies and conducting searches
- Strong time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines
- Experience with patent databases such as Orbit, Pat Base, Google Scholar, or Pat Seer
- Master's degree or PhD in a related field
