SCHEDULE:
Onsite (occasional work from home flexibility but fully onsite is the expectation)
The CAD Technician will support a small, fast‑moving engineering team by developing detailed 2D and 3D designs for factory and production environments. This fully onsite role focuses on creating factory layouts, translating conceptual sketches into refined CAD models, and executing a backlog of design requests tied to upcoming industrial initiatives. The ideal candidate has strong AutoCAD proficiency, 3D modeling expertise, and experience working within industrial, manufacturing, or factory settings.
This position operates in a collaborative, startup‑like environment that requires rapid iteration, strong communication, and hands‑on problem‑solving.
Develop 2D and 3D designs for factory, production, and workflow environments.
Translate conceptual sketches and verbal requirements into accurate CAD drawings.
Produce factory layout proposals, including spatial planning, equipment placement, and flow optimization.
Execute a design backlog driven by team priorities and upcoming project needs.
Participate in collaborative design discussions and iterative layout sessions with the engineering team.
Interpret engineering drawings, design standards, and industrial requirements to ensure accuracy and consistency.
Support continuous improvement of layout concepts and documentation quality.
Contribute to early‑stage industrial design concepts for confidential engineering programs.
At least 5 years of experience
AutoCAD proficiency — expert ability to produce accurate 2D factory and equipment layouts.
3D modeling expertise using industry‑standard CAD tools.
Factory layout design experience, preferably in industrial or manufacturing environments.
Engineering drawing interpretation with strong attention to detail.
Backlog‑driven design execution with the ability to manage multiple requests efficiently.
Ability to work in a startup‑like environment with rapid iteration and shifting priorities.
Strong communication skills and comfort working in highly collaborative settings.
Ability to contribute to innovative production concepts within confidential development programs.
10+ years preferred
Industrial, manufacturing, or factory design background strongly preferred.
Degree in Industrial Engineering is ideal
This is a Contract position based out of Seattle, WA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $39.64 - $39.64/hr.
