Job Description Summary
As a Lead Coatings Process Engineer, you will support the industrialization, quality, producibility and technological advancement of GE Aerospace's Turbine Airfoil Coatings. In this role, you will collaborate with GE Aerospace Design, Materials, Manufacturing, Quality, Sourcing and Supplier teams to impact short-term and long-term business goals.
This position is based out of West Chester, Ohio and Evendale, Ohio; however, will have the option for remote work for a qualified candidate.
This role will require up to 30% travel (to U.S. based suppliers).
Job DescriptionRoles and Responsibilities:
- Lead industrialization and production support projects focused on turbine airfoil coatings technology for current and future engine designs, from coating process development to inspection technology
- Become a certifying agent for turbine airfoil coating special processes through in-depth training and hands‑on learning to build expertise in coating requirements, materials, processes and equipment.
- Provide technical assistance and collaborate with suppliers to solve production coating issues utilizing a variety of problem‑solving methods to experiment, determine root cause and implement corrective actions
- Work with Quality, Delivery and Sourcing teams to track Supplier KPIs and create continuous improvement projects for coating quality, delivery and cost.
- Create and maintain action plans for cross‑functional teams to achieve desired outcomes on time. Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments to leadership and coordinate tasks necessary to overcome issues
- Be disciplined, technical, curious, self‑motivated, and able to form and maintain strong professional relationships
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university (or a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in Engineering, Quality, Design, and/or Manufacturing)
- At least an additional 3 years of experience in an Engineering, Manufacturing, and/or Design position
- Knowledge and experience with Aerospace coatings, specifically EB-PVD, diffusion, vacuum or thermal processing.
- Strong technical aptitude related to problem solving and critical thinking.
- Demonstrated GE Flight Deck Behaviors – Respect for People, Continuous Improvement and Customer Driven.
- Shop floor, design, engineering or manufacturing experience
- Experience with manufacturing equipment and/or tooling design and build.
- Desire to continue to grow individual skills and supports growth within the team
- Ability to influence others and lead small teams
- Ability to lead initiatives with moderate scope, autonomy and impact
- Consistent work ethic, adding to the team’s ability to execute and deliver on commitments

The base pay range for this position is $ - $. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary/ commission based on the plan. This posting is expected to close on March 11, 2026.
