Remote Pilot in Command; RPIC

As RPIC, you hold ultimate authority and responsibility for mission safety, compliance, and outcomes under GACAR Part 107 (RPAS). You will lead VLOS missions (and, where approved, EVLOS/BVLOS), manage crew and stakeholders, and ensure that aircraft, payloads, and data flows meet operational, regulatory, and client standards.

• Assume final go/no-go authority; conduct site surveys, operational risk assessment (SORA 2.5), and Job Safety Analysis (JSA)
• Plan missions end-to-end: airspace classification, NOTAMs, geofencing, geospatial constraints, TFRs, and site permissions/permits (e.g., GEOSA workflows).
• Define flight profiles, contingency/recovery points, lost-link and C2 strategies, and performance/energy margins (wind, temps, density altitude).
• Lead crew briefs/debriefs; assign duties to Co-Pilot/VOs, payload operators, and ground crew; enforce sterile-cockpit discipline and checklist use
• Execute takeoff/landing and all critical phases; maintain separation and right-of-way; ensure continuous VLOS (or approved EVLOS/BVLOS procedures).
• Manage abnormalities/emergencies: controlled land-outs, return-to-home, flight termination, geo-fence incursions, and air/ground traffic conflicts.
• Own the Safety Management System (SMS) touchpoints: hazard identification, occurrence reporting, root-cause analysis, and safety audits.
• Verify aircraft airworthiness state: firmware/config control, maintenance status, battery health/SOH, prop/arm integrity, flight-time & cycle limits.
• Configure and validate payloads (RGB, thermal, LiDAR, multispectral); specify GSD/overlap, scan patterns, and ground control/RTK/PPK needs.
• Ensure data governance: chain-of-custody, on-site QC, secure transfer/backup, and client data requirements (naming, formats, retention).
• Ensure strict adherence to GACA rules; apply FAA Part 107/EASA best practices where relevant; uphold company Operations Manual/SOPs.
• Keep accurate flight, maintenance, and occurrence logs; execute CAPAs and continuous-improvement actions.
• Interface with clients, site HSE, and authorities; represent the company during inspections or audits.
• Coach Co-Pilots/VOs; conduct line checks; contribute to training syllabi, scenario-based training, and recurrency programs

Bachelor in Engineering

GACA Drone RPAS license authorization (RPIC preferably) or demonstrable readiness to obtain immediately

Mission software (DJI Pilot/Enterprise, QGC, UgCS, Mission Planner).

GNSS workflows (RTK/PPK), ground control, and survey QA.

Payload integration and basic troubleshooting (C2 links, EMC/compass/GNSS).
