Position: Concrete Production & Logistics Project Manager - Sizewell C - Sizewell C site based

About The Role

The Concrete Production & Logistics Project Manager is responsible for ensuring the reliable, efficient, and safe delivery of ready‑mixed concrete across all concrete recipients on the SZC Civil Works Programme. The role provides the essential interface between site delivery teams, batching operations, logistics, and planning to ensure that concrete supply aligns with programme needs, capacity limits, technical requirements, and the concrete ordering & delivery procedure.

This role prevents uncoordinated, reactive, or unsafe concrete delivery by maintaining clear prioritisation, stable production flow, and controlled escalation routes during high‑risk or constrained operations. It is a critical integrator function ensuring that batching plant utilisation, haulage, testing, and pour sequencing collectively support the projects delivery objectives.

What you'll be doing
  • Demand Forecasting
  • Convert site programmes into realistic short‑, medium‑, and long‑term concrete demand profiles.
  • Review and challenge forecasts from concrete recipients to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Identify peaks and constraints early, feeding risks into planning and mitigation cycles.
  • Pour Prioritisation
  • Lead weekly concrete coordination meetings to determine daily and weekly prioritisation of pours across the site.
  • Ensure critical path, safety‑critical, and large‑scale pours are appropriately prioritised when capacity or haulage is constrained.
  • Resolve competing demands or escalate unresolved conflicts to the Concrete Lead.
  • Delivery Coordination
  • Align batching plant output, haulage capacity, site access windows, pump availability, and delivery routes.
  • Ensure pour sequences, start times, and logistics.
  • Maintain stable production flow and prevent batching under‑ or over‑demand.
  • Exception Control
  • Manage real‑time issues such as overruns, aborted pours, breakdowns, weather impacts, resequencing, and compliance constraints.
  • Coordinate with laboratory teams on technical issues affecting concrete acceptance or rejection.
  • Implement controlled decision‑making processes to maintain safety and quality.
  • Escalation Authority
  • Act as the authorised interface for urgent or out‑of‑tolerance decisions during live operations.
  • Maintain auditable records of decisions, conflicts, and actions during live pours.

Ensure all urgent instructions are compliant with CODP Section 6.1 and project governance.

  • Effective decision‑making under pressure and in live operational environments.
