Job Description & How to Apply Below

Let’s talk about the role:

We are seeking a TDLR‑licensed Environmental Field Inspector to join our national inspection team. This role is designed for professionals who already hold an active Texas Mold Assessment Technician (MAT) or Mold Assessment Consultant (MAC) license and want to apply their expertise in a highly technical, client‑facing inspection environment.

As an Environmental Field Inspector, you will work with a team of experts to provide a comprehensive assessment of our client's properties by collecting property data on our mobile app and uploading it to cloud‑based software. During the inspection, you will perform environmental sampling to verify or dismiss the presence of indoor environmental pathogens such as mold, VOCs, mycotoxins, etc.

This is not a remediation role. This is a diagnostic, investigative, and documentation‑driven position requiring technical rigor, precision, and professionalism.

Why is this role important to us?

The Environmental Field Inspector plays a pivotal role as the "boots on the ground" and public face of We Inspect, bringing expertise and compassion to every interaction. Acting as a beacon of hope for our clients—many of whom are hypersensitive and depend on our understanding of the mold‑to‑health connection—our inspectors are committed to caring for everyone they encounter and delivering exceptional service.

Work Structure & Travel:

  • This is a remote position with extensive travel
  • Travel will be required up to 90% of the time, or up to 4 days per week
  • Mix of regional Texas inspections and nationwide assignments, with preference to Texas jobs
  • Inspectors generally complete 13–15 onsite inspections per month
  • Travel is centrally coordinated by We Inspect to maximize efficiency

You Will…

  • Travel to the homeowner or rental properties throughout the country to conduct inspections that meet the needs of the client
  • Collect property data on mobile devices and upload to cloud‑based software using a defined process
  • Collect environmental samples from properties, package and send to laboratories for further analysis, as needed
  • Collaborate closely with a team of experts, including a Lead Consultant who provides guidance pre‑inspection and a Lead Inspector who supports you throughout the inspection process
  • Engage in continuous learning to be a leading industry expert and provide knowledgeable solutions for our clients

You Have…

  • An active TDLR license as a Mold Assessment Technician or Mold Assessment Consultant
  • Strong growth mindset with a commitment to continuous learning and improvement
  • Reliable transportation for onsite visits to client's homes
  • Ability to travel without restriction within the US
  • A valid license to drive rental vehicles
  • Ability to travel 3‑4 days a week with overnight stays required
  • Bachelor's in Environmental Studies, Earth Sciences or a related field, a plus
  • 2+ years experience in mold remediation, water restoration, lead/asbestos abatement, HVAC contracting or construction or comparable industry/role, a plus

You Are…

  • A team player
  • An exceptional writer and spoken communicator
  • Highly organized & autonomous
  • Comfortable and energized operating in a fastmoving organization
  • Passionate about our mission and helping us build our vision
  • Highly self‑motivated and results‑driven
  • Enthusiastic about learning and growing at We Inspect
  • Intellectually curious and ambitious

Physical Demands

  • Ability lift, push and/or pull up to 50 lbs frequently and up to 75 lbs occasionally
  • Ability to stoop, crawl and maneuver in small spaces such as under a house or in an attic
  • Must wear required PPE during onsite inspections
  • Must be comfortable climbing ladders
  • 8+ hours of work being on your feet during inspection days

Compensation and Benefits

  • Hourly, exempt position
  • OTE $55‑60k annually
  • Meal per diem for travel
