Job Title: Construction Oversight Engineer
Type: Long-term Contract
Contractor Work Model: Remote
- Develop procedures for regulatory oversight of the construction of advanced reactor unit(s)
- Provide inspection oversight of the construction of advanced reactor unit(s), leveraging in-depth knowledge of NRC regulations and inspection procedures
- Independently identify issues of concern, proactively communicate with management within the Regulatory Construction Oversight organization, and recommend regulatory paths that resolve the issues of concern
- Conduct technical inspections related to the construction of advanced reactor units
- Support the Regulatory Construction Oversight organization within Regulatory Affairs and Licensing
- 18+ years of experience with the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), including time spent as a qualified inspector (reactors)
- In-depth knowledge of regulations, codes, standards, and guidance related to nuclear power reactors
- Ability to work independently and with a questioning attitude
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (desired)
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to succinctly and promptly communicate matters of significance across a diverse audience
- High degree of trust and integrity, open communication, and teamwork orientation
- Ability to work onsite in Kemmerer, including walking, climbing, standing for prolonged periods in various weather conditions
- Physical exertion: moderate, including lifting up to 25 pounds
