Position: Rail Estimator (PMCM Rail)

Overview

Join to apply for the Rail Estimator (PMCM Rail) role at WSP in the UK & Ireland.

What you will do
  • Deliver cost estimates as part of an estimating team.
  • Perform Estimating, Cost Planning, Procurement and Cost Assurance of projects ranging in size and complexity for internal and external clients.
  • Collaborate with client teams and with multi-disciplinary project teams; work from WSP offices, client offices and/or site locations to deliver programmes of strategic regional and national importance.
What we will be looking for
  • Rail Estimating experience and knowledge of measurement methods such as the Rail Method of Measurement (RMM1), Method of Measurement for Highway Works (MMHW) and the Civil Engineering Standard Method of Measurement (CESMM4).
  • Relevant educational background.
  • Good technical writing, client facing and communication skills.
  • Knowledge and experience in Estimating/Cost and Commercial management competencies relevant to professional institutions.
  • Estimating software experience (e.g., CostX and CANDY).
  • Bottom-up estimating experience from first principles.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Experience in Rail Systems/Engineering Estimating and/or Commercial Management in a consultant, contractor or client organisation.
  • Demonstrable Estimating Cost and Commercial Management experience in the Rail sector and/or civil engineering/highways projects.
