Role SummaryWe are seeking a motivated and technically strong Structural Design Engineer (PE) to join a growing engineering team. This role will focus on structural design, analysis, code compliance, and collaboration with architects, contractors, and project stakeholders. The ideal candidate will be a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the United States with proven design experience and strong communication skills.
This is a remote position with flexibility, but candidates should be open to periodic coordination meetings and occasional site visits depending on project requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Lead structural design and analysis for building projects, ensuring safety, performance, and code compliance.
- Prepare and review structural calculations, technical drawings, and detailed specifications.
- Coordinate design scope with architects, contractors, and internal project teams.
- Apply building codes and standards (IBC, AISC, ACI, ASCE) in design solutions.
- Provide engineering support during construction and answer RFIs or design clarifications.
- Attend client meetings, design reviews, and project coordination calls.
- Mentor junior engineers and review design work as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or closely related field.
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in the U.S. (or ability to obtain licensure promptly).
- 5+ years of structural design experience (commercial or residential / mixed-use).
- Proficiency with structural analysis and design tools (e.g., Revit, AutoCAD, RISA, SAP
2000, ETABS). - Strong understanding of building codes, regulations, and construction detailing.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with remote design collaboration and cloud-based project tools.
- Prior involvement in design-build or integrated project delivery environments.
- Mentorship experience or ability to coordinate work across disciplines.
