Telecom AutoCAD Drafter/Designer (5+ Yrs Telecom Exp. Req.) – REMOTE DescriptionOur client in the engineering consulting industry is seeking a Telecom AutoCAD Drafter/Designer to support telecom site development projects across New England and New York. In this remote role, you will prepare coordinated drawing sets and site layouts while working closely with engineers and project teams. The ideal candidate has strong telecom drafting experience and a working knowledge of how structural, MEP, and architectural disciplines interface with telecom site design (not responsible for engineering design).
To succeed, you must be organized, deadline-driven, self-motivated, and able to accurately incorporate engineer markups. This is an opportunity to join a respected firm with a strong industry reputation and collaborative remote culture.
- Prepare detailed telecom drawing sets and layouts using AutoCAD
- Compile complete drawing sheet sets in coordination with engineers
- Incorporate engineer markups and structural inputs into final drawings
- Complete site layouts for rooftop, ground-mounted, co-lo, and specialty structures
- Use standardized templates to produce consistent, coordinated drawings
- Coordinate with structural, MEP, and architectural disciplines for design alignment
- Leverage knowledge of building materials to inform drafting decisions and layouts
- Conduct site visits to verify conditions, gather measurements, and document utilities
- Utilize field documentation to update drawings accurately
- Support multiple projects simultaneously while meeting established deadlines
- Communicate effectively with remote project teams to ensure project objectives are met
- 5+ years of telecommunications drafting, design and detailing experience is required
- Strong AutoCAD experience is required
- Familiarity with equipment & architectural aspects of telecom site design/permitting is required
- Proficiency with reading and interpreting design plans and details is required
- Ability to stay on task and meet deadlines in a fast-paced remote work environment is required
- Ability to travel for day trips to project sites within New England and New York is required
