The OpportunityDowner's Energy & Utilities business is seeking a Submissions Coordinator to support the development of high‑quality tender submissions across our broad utilities portfolio. Working as part of a trans‑Tasman submissions team, you will collaborate with engineers, project managers and subject matter experts to help deliver compelling, compliant bids for essential infrastructure projects. This role offers the flexibility to work remotely, with preference for candidates based in Auckland, Christchurch or Tauranga.
You will contribute to a wide range of proposals across water, power, gas, metering and general utilities work—helping shape strong, client‑aligned responses that support Downer's continued success.
- Write and edit clear, accurate and compelling non‑price tender responses.
- Coordinate inputs from SMEs, project teams and bid managers.
- Ensure compliance with customer requirements, formatting standards and review processes.
- Prepare, compile and quality‑check submission documentation for lodgement.
- Lead smaller bids independently while supporting larger, more complex tenders.
- Remote working flexibility with preference for NZ‑based candidates (Auckland, Christchurch, Tauranga).

You’ll be a strong communicator with excellent writing skills and the ability to translate complex technical information into clear, client‑focused content. You enjoy coordinating inputs, managing deadlines and working effectively in a remote team environment.
Ideally you bring:- Experience in tender writing, proposal coordination or technical/project administration.
- Strong writing and editing skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to engage confidently with SMEs and stakeholders.
- Organised, self‑managing approach with strong follow‑through.
- Background in utilities, construction or infrastructure (advantageous but not essential).
