About the OpportunityAmentum provides client-oriented solutions across our environment, energy, and defence businesses. With a strong order book and a diverse, exciting portfolio of projects across the UK and internationally, we need to expand our team of environmental specialists across multiple disciplines required to deliver a project lifecycle—from new build and operations through to decommissioning and site end use. We are looking for a Senior Hydrogeologist to support our ongoing new‑build, contaminated land and decommissioning projects across our environment, energy and defence businesses. In this role, you will work closely with colleagues to input into and design site investigations, data interpretation, risk assessments, and remediation and ground water management design, as well as supporting hydrogeological numerical modelling. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your technical skills and progress in a highly regulated and dynamic field.
We offer flexible working arrangements (a mix of office‑based and home working). This role can be based in Harwell, Bristol, Rotherham, Cumbria or Birchwood.
Key Responsibilities- Participate in site investigation design and interpretation (focused on hydrogeological investigations to support a range of project scales and site end uses). Provide supervision and advise on hydrogeological testing and monitoring strategies.
- Data Analysis & Reporting:
Assist in interpreting field and laboratory results, contributing to conceptual site models (CSMs) and preliminary groundwater risk assessments. Work with numerical modellers to develop site and regional scale hydrogeological models for large scale and long term contaminant migration studies and to support the design of complex groundwater management and control projects. - Input into site and regional scale flood risk assessments.
- Collaboration:
Work alongside junior and senior consultants and project managers and meeting deadlines. - Regulatory Awareness:
Learn and apply relevant UK environmental legislation, guidance, and codes of practice. - Health & Safety Compliance:
Adhere to strict HSE requirements, both on‑site and in office environments, ensuring you and your colleagues maintain safe working conditions. - Professional Development:
