Job DescriptionThe Senior Building Automation Engineer is responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of Building Management System (BMS), Electrical Power Monitoring System (EPMS), and SCADA scopes for hyperscale data center construction projects. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of AutoCAD drawings and schematics. The position involves coordinating with multiple trades and stakeholders, ensuring all control systems are commissioned and delivered on time.
Strong project management experience in mission-critical environments and a technical background in controls or MEP systems are essential for success in this role.
- Lead engineering teams for BMS, EPMS, and SCADA deliverables and designs.
- Maintain schedule, submittals, RFIs, SOVs, and change documentation.
- Partner with general contractors, mechanical and electrical teams, and other key stakeholders.
- Oversee commissioning readiness and ensure alignment with IST scripts.
- Track risks, procurement, long-lead items, and resourcing.
- Ensure high-quality turnover documentation and training packages.
- Experience in data center projects.
- Strong understanding of Building Management Systems (BMS), Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS), SCADA, or Mechanical/Electrical/Plumbing systems.
- Experience with commissioning readiness and alignment with IST scripts and protocols.
- Experience partnering with general contractors, owner representatives, mechanical and electrical teams, and other key stakeholders.
Skills & Qualifications
- Ability to work independently and contribute to building out a department.
- Experience in automation, commissioning, and facility management.
The role is primarily remote, with site visits to projects in Michigan City, Indiana, as required. All travel and lodging costs will be covered. Initial phases will require more on-site presence, which will decrease as the project progresses. There is an opportunity to return home on weekends if the project permits multiple-week stays.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Gainesville, GA.
Pay And BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $130000.00 - $200000.00/hr.
