Sr Systems Engineer

Job Description

Insight Global is seeking an experienced Sr Systems Engineer to join our client's IT department and resolve critical infrastructure challenges. This role requires expertise in IBM Storage Protect database migration, Rancher Prime upgrades, and Linux/Red Hat standardization within complex, undocumented systems. The ideal candidate will work independently to troubleshoot expert-level technical issues while maintaining flexible remote work arrangements. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for success in this position.

• 2+ years of hands‑on experience with IBM Storage Protect (formerly TSM/Spectrum Protect)
• 2+ years of experience with container orchestration platforms (Kubernetes, Rancher, Docker)
• Extensive experience in Linux system administration and Red Hat environments
• Strong knowledge of database migration strategies and data management practices
• Proven ability to work independently and troubleshoot complex technical issues without extensive documentation - IBM Storage Protect or Tivoli certifications
• Puppet configuration management expertise for environment standardization
• Experience with undocumented legacy systems and creating technical documentation
• AWS backup integration experience with enterprise storage solutions
• Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 9-10 specific experience
