Job Description & How to Apply Below
Position: Factory Controls Engineer (FCS)

About our group:

The global demand for data storage is accelerating at an unprecedented rate, and this growth is reshaping the scale, speed, and expectations of modern manufacturing. To meet this demand, our wafer fabs in Minnesota and Northern Ireland— already among the most advanced production environments in the world — must expand capability, throughput, and operational excellence.

To support this expansion, we are hiring across MES, factory controls, factory support, and project management. We are looking for individuals who can rethink these roles for the next era of manufacturing—people who bring curiosity, technical depth, and the ability to operate in new ways as workloads scale.

A defining characteristic of these roles is an AI‑first mindset. As part of Global Factory ITs agentic shift, you will help redesign Wafer FAB support, deployment, and configuration activities to meet new demands. You will bring fresh perspectives on existing and new tasks and help pioneer new patterns of collaboration between humans and AI, shaping the next generation of digital work forces and manufacturing systems leaders.

Joining us means contributing to the systems and solutions that will enable our wafer fabs to keep pace with the world’s hunger for data, while building the skills and experiences that define the future of factory operations.

About the role – you will:
  • Own and support systems used by process and equipment engineering to control the Wafer FABs, including SeaCAPs, a Recipe Management System (RMS), and Statistical Process Control (SPC) applications.
  • Maintain a strong work relationship with business users of factory controls and vendors supplying control applications.
  • Own service health, uptime, and operational readiness for FCS applications (monitoring, alert response, incident triage, and recovery).
  • Perform root cause analysis (RCA) after incidents and implement preventative actions to reduce repeat outages and scrap risk.
  • Engage as a member of a cross‑site, virtual GenAI adopter group, collaborating through regular forums to exchange ideas, review outcomes, and learn from both successful and unsuccessful GenAI agent deployments.
  • Support business operations out of hours during any major incidents or support needs.
About you:
  • This role does not meet the criteria set by the Home Office for sponsorship on a Skilled Worker Visa as such sponsorship of this visa cannot be offered.
  • Degree in Computer Science/Statistics/Applied Mathematics/Engineering or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Will work across departments to solve complex problems.
  • Will concurrently support multiple projects and customers.
  • Curious and practical about GenAI. Experience with, or strong desire to learn, how to build and deploy GenAI agents to automate and streamline operational workflows.
  • Have an automation mindset, continually looking for repeatable work to standardize and automate processes. Think out‑of‑the‑box. Solution oriented.
  • Have excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills.
  • Self‑motivated with ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Your experience includes:
  • Strong coding skills that could include .NET, C#, Java, Python.
  • Experience in SQL.
  • Knowledge of data formats such as JSON and XML.
Location:

Springtown, Derry / Londonderry, Northern Ireland

Employment type and other information:
  • Full‑Time position working 39 hours per week.
  • Completed applications should be submitted no later than midnight on 17th March 2026.
