Job Description

The Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for the design and analysis of Turbine Hot Gas Path and Rotor components for heavy-duty gas turbines. The role involves collaborating with Cross-Functional Engineering teams and Global Supply Chain teams to ensure that hardware meets Product and Design Practice Critical to Quality (CTQs) standards.

Responsibilities

* Design and analyze heavy-duty and aeroderivative gas turbine components, focusing on hot gas path and rotor components.

* Execute design or evaluation of assigned hardware using sound engineering practices and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product/program requirements.

* Participate and present in formal and informal technical reviews for all design tasks and output with Controlled Title Holders, following documented NPI and RCA Processes.

* Work closely with Controlled Title Holders, Heat Transfer, Manufacturing, and Sourcing Teams on component and sub-system optimizations.

* Focus on Design for Cost, Design for Variation, and Design for Manufacturability.

Essential Skills

* Proficiency in mechanical design and analysis.

* Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related Engineering/Science from an accredited college or university.

* 4 to 8 years of Engineering analysis experience.

* Experience in designing and analyzing turbine blades, nozzles, and shrouds and/or rotors using ANSYS.

* Proficiency in CAD software, preferably NX.

* Experience working with Cross-Functional Engineering teams.

* Experience in gas turbine component optimization.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Greenville, SC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $110000.00/hr.
