Kiewit is currently looking for a Regional Environmental Lead who will lead and oversee the environmental management practices and permitting compliance of our construction operations. This position will ensure compliance with legal and contractual environmental requirements while contributing to Kiewit’s dedication to corporate social responsibility.

LocationThis position can be home‑based out of any of our offices, or at the Orlando, Tampa, or Alpharetta, GA office, and will require extensive travel across Florida, Georgia, Alabama, and South Carolina. Candidates who are only looking for remote work or unwilling to travel will not be considered.
Responsibilities- Lead the environmental compliance & permitting for the construction operations.
- Identify, assess, and reduce environmental risks to the company.
- Update environmental plans.
- Perform and oversee field inspections and monitoring (water quality, underwater noise, etc.).
- Identify wetlands and sensitive environmental areas for protection and fencing in advance of construction activities.
- Maintain project data tracking requirements.
- Monitor, forecast, and communicate environmental costs at the project level.
- Develop and conduct environmental protection and awareness training for staff at all levels.
- Serve as a principal technical advisor and coordinator for environmental issues.
- Coordinate with relevant crews on work locations, material needs, quantities, and invoices.
- Interpret and apply environmental specifications and drawings, avoiding and minimizing adverse effects to the natural environment and local communities.
- Prepare project and Kiewit‑required reports and communicate environmental risks to project management.
- Attend field visits with client and regulatory agencies.
- Liaise with the client to provide design information, schedule details, quantities, etc., ensuring they are aware of any unanticipated discoveries, critical permitting, and compliance issues.
- Minimum undergraduate degree in an environmental health or engineering field.
- Minimum 8+ years managing design and construction environmental compliance for large‑scale projects (OGC or EPC experience preferred).
- Qualified Environmental Professional designation preferred.
- Working knowledge of provincial and federal environmental legislation.
- Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and initiative.
