The incumbent will perform designs using vendor suites of engineering software tools, including Autodesk Suite – Roads, earthworks and pipe network modelling using Autodesk Civil3D, and CAD production using AutoCAD, together with document management using Autodesk Construction Cloud.
Responsibilities- Design Civil infrastructure using Civil3D (Roads, pipe networks, bulk earthworks, etc.).
- Provide technical input from initial assessment through technical and economic feasibility to design development and construction implementation to project close out.
- Carry out investigations, surveys, design, engineering calculations and preparation of working drawings and estimates.
- Review overall project design and suggest technical and design improvements.
- Assist with the preparation of cost estimates on project designs.
- Detail oriented with strong skills in municipal infrastructure and roads.
- Ability to work in a team environment and have excellent verbal and written skills.
- Role model standards for SHEQ performance and behavior consistent with the company’s health, safety, environmental and quality vision and policies.
- Contribute to identification of SHEQ risks and drive processes to achieve Zero Harm.
- Embrace, display and promote company values and ensure a safe working environment is maintained at all times.
- BEng/BSc (Civil Engineering) or BTech (Civil Engineering).
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in Civil Engineering Design (Roads, pipe networks, bulk earthworks, etc.).
- Registered as a Candidate Engineer with ECSA;
Professional Registration is advantageous.
- Self‑training ability, with an affinity to learn new design technologies.
- Good general computer skills.
- Taking ownership and being proactive in the working environment.
- Possess initiative and good interpersonal skills.
- Must be a collaborative team player.
- Resilient under pressure, able to work independently from a dispersed location while operating as a team.
- Accuracy – attention to detail and correctness of information.
- Committed to delivering excellent levels of service and good communication.
