Position Title:
Engineering Cost Analyst
The Montana Department of Transportation is recruiting an Engineering Cost Analyst. The Engineering Cost Analyst plays a critical role in the successful delivery of MDT construction projects. The position is responsible for developing consistent, accurate cost estimates and contract time calculations, supporting project planning through final design. The incumbent provides expert guidance and training to MDT staff, consultants, and stakeholders, and manages key software tools used in cost estimation and risk management.

- A Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering and a minimum of three (3) years of experience in highway engineering
- A Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field and a minimum of five (5) years of directly related experience in highway engineering
- Alternative combinations of education and experience may be considered
- A Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred
- At a minimum, candidates must possess Engineer Intern (EI) certification

- Developing and administering diverse projects and functions

- Developing comprehensive solutions to complex engineering problems
- Leading and coordinating multiple engineering activities
