Job Description & How to Apply Below

Join the team bringing advanced autonomy to the built world

At Bedrock, we’re moving AI out of the lab and into the real world. Our team is composed of industry veterans who helped launch Waymo, scaled Segment to a $3.2B acquisition, and grew Uber Freight to $5B in revenue. Today, we’re deploying autonomous systems on heavy construction machinery across the country, accelerating project schedules of billion-dollar infrastructure projects and improving safety on job sites.

This is where algorithms meet steel‑toed boots. You’ll collaborate with construction veterans and world‑class engineers to solve physical‑world problems that simulations can’t touch. If you're ready to apply cutting‑edge technology to solve meaningful problems alongside a talented team—we'd love to have you join us.

Bedrock Robotics, Inc. seeks an Integration Engineer in San Francisco, CA responsible for designing, manufacturing, and testing our autonomous hardware and software stacks as well as for uptime, triaging, and debugging issues that arise within the fleet. Will also connect the development of our technical stack (software, hardware, and everything in between) to a business case, guiding development and deployment of autonomous machines into newer construction projects and within existing ones.

Responsibilities
  • Integrating hardware and software components to build a functional autonomous machine.
  • Conducting fleet issue triage, including debugging and disassembling and probing machines to determine root cause of reported issues.
  • Designing new computer systems optimized for autonomous systems.
  • Integrating new sensors and working with software engineers to develop software backend to make the data available for the environment.
  • Machine integration, including evaluating electrical, mechanical, and software architecture of the machine control system, and contributing to hardware and software design reviews.

This is a hybrid office‑based/work‑from‑home position within the United States. The employee can work remotely from within the United States but must be able to work in the San Francisco office at least three (3) days per week. This position permits remote work but does not require any travel other than that which would be normally required for any employee to commute to the office work location.

Must have a bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics Engineering, or a directly related field plus five (5) years of progressively responsible, post‑baccalaureate experience in a related position.

Experience must include:

  • Five (5) years with ECU communication protocols and technologies (including CAN, LIN, J1939, Flex Ray, and Ethernet).
  • Three (3) years with diverse autonomous machine sensors, including cameras, lidars, radars, GNSS, and IMUs, and their interfaces (including at least 2 of the following: GMSL, Eth, or S422).
  • Three (3) years with Linux or command line working with onboard computer systems.
  • Three (3) years with the implementation of communication protocol such as SPI, I2C, TCP, or UDP.
  • Three (3) years developing BOMs and schematics for highly reliable NVIDIA hardware such as Xavier or Orin based products.
  • Any experience with data analysis and test scripting and automation, particularly for vehicles or other electro‑mechanical systems (for example but not limited to C, C++, Python, Matlab, or Simulink).

Experience can be concurrent.

This position is expected to pay an annual salary between $220,000 - $240,000.
