Serco is seeking a Senior Acquisition Manager Specialist with proven experience supporting the U.S. Navy in Washington, DC. In this role, you will assist NAVSEA by delivering expert financial analysis, leading acquisition-focused meetings, maintaining regular communication with senior leadership, coordinating documentation for acquisition requirements, and contributing to the development of acquisition plans for U.S. Navy surface ship modernization, availabilities, and contracting initiatives.

This position is contingent upon your ability to maintain/transfer a DoW Secret security clearance.

You will be part of a team that collaborates closely with the SEA
21 Acquisition Director to shape procurement strategies that effectively support SEA
21 program objectives while aligning with cost, schedule, and technical requirements.

Serco supports the U.S. Navy as a prime for their Ship Maintenance and Modernization contract which integrates maintenance strategies, modernization plans, training needs, and technical, logistics, and programmatic efforts to best manage the lifecycle of U.S. and partner Navy surface ships and systems from fleet introduction through transfer to disposal.

• Provide daily support to the SEA
  21C Acquisition and Contracting Director and Principal Assistant Program Managers (PAPMs).
• Collaborate with stakeholders regarding technical, logistics, and other fleet issues and coordinate resolution of these issues.
• Extract operational data, conduct research and analysis, develop concise documents outlining the analysis, and present analysis up the Chain of Command, including the Flag and SES levels.
• Set up and attend meetings, draft written reports, and provide recommendations to the customer.
• Coordinate and lead senior level working groups, program development forums, analytical activities and other forums as required to accomplish contract requirements.
• Distil and disseminate information on new and ongoing strategic initiatives to all relevant parties throughout the NAVSEA Enterprise.
• Attend broader NAVSEA forums to understand how current 21C initiatives fit into broader Navy plans and objectives.
• Comply with security procedures and requirements.
• Perform additional duties as required.

• An active DoW issued Secret security clearance is required.
• A Bachelor's degree and over 10 years of experience.
• Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered for candidates with highly specialized or uniquely applicable expertise.
• A strong organizational skills with excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (i.e., Word, PowerPoint, Excel, MS Teams etc.).
• To be able to travel 10%.

• Experience leading teams or communities of practice in a virtual environment.
• Self-motivated with minimal direction required to accomplish tasks in fast-paced work environment.
• Experience working in NAVSEA or other Navy Staff.
• Surface Warfare Officer (SWO), Limited Duty Officer (LDO), or GS employee with significant surface ship experience.
