Senior DevOps Engineer

Description

The Senior Dev Ops Engineer empowers the engineers building the client's new Authentication and Authorization services. The successful candidate must be able to quickly familiarize themselves with the team’s services, then recommend solutions that leverage the latest in AWS technologies, build the infrastructure as code, develop scripts to monitor and manage the resources.

• Develop innovative strategies and processes for monitoring and alarm when processes fail to run
• Manage portions of the release processes and Dev Ops role for the team
• Monitor and make changes for security compliance
• Write scripts to support the engineering teams
• Manage and monitor various data feeds through the system and handle issues as they arise
• Consult on feature design, implementation, and relevant metrics like reliability, completeness, accuracy, and cost
• Perform capacity monitoring and short and long-term capacity planning.
• Manage and maintain documentation for all aspects of the system

• Have experience with large-scale system support, management, and designs
• Have significant AWS experience (including EC2, Lambda, S3, and Database Migration Services)
• Have experience with scripting languages such as Python
• Have familiarity with relational databases and SQS
• Have hands‑on experience with Athena, API Gateway, EMR, and Kinesis
• Have experience with query languages (MySQL, JSON, Elastic Search)
• Have the ability to guide engineers and other team members
• Have documentation skills for processes and procedures
