Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is actively seeking a highly skilled and motivated Remote Sensing Project Manager to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in driving the success of our remote sensing projects, ensuring they are executed with precision and excellence. As a Project Lead, you will be at the forefront of managing complex projects and contributing to the growth and innovation of our services.

Project

& Client Management
  • Manage remote sensing projects from proposal through final delivery, ensuring schedule, scope, budget, and quality objectives are met.
  • Serve as the primary client point of contact, leading kickoff meetings, progress updates, scope discussions, and closeout activities.
  • Coordinate and manage multiple active projects simultaneously, often across different markets and data types.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, milestones, and delivery plans.
  • Proactively identify risks, constraints, and scope changes; prepare and negotiate additional service requests as needed.
  • Represent the service line as a SME to the client.
Proposal Development & Business Support
  • Lead and support the preparation of high-volume, fast-turn proposals, including scope definition, assumptions, schedules, and fee development.
  • Collaborate with business development, technical leads, and operations to align proposals with execution capabilities.
  • Demonstrate a clear understanding of contract terms, scopes of services, and pricing structures.
  • Track proposal status and support follow-up activities with clients.
  • Manage project financials, including budget tracking, invoicing, work-in-process, and accounts receivable.
  • Monitor project performance metrics to ensure profitability and operational efficiency.
  • Coordinate staffing needs and resource allocation across internal teams and external partners.
  • Ensure compliance with internal project management procedures and QA/QC standards.
Technical Leadership & Coordination
  • Provide project-level technical leadership across Westwood’s remote sensing services, including:
  • Digital Photogrammetry
  • Survey Control
  • UAS / Drone Data Collection
  • Airborne, Terrestrial, and Mobile LiDAR
  • Orthophotography, Planimetrics, DTMs, Contours, and modeling.
  • Transmission Line Profile & Catenary Modeling (PLS-CADD /TL-PRO)
  • Thermography and High Voltage Corona Investigation
  • Aerial Magnetometry
  • Virtual Site Visits and Visualization Products
  • Coordinate closely with Remote Sensing Technicians, Calibration staff, Survey, Engineering, and GIS teams.
  • Ensure deliverables meet client specifications, industry standards, and internal QA/QC requirements.
  • Lead, mentor, and support project teams; delegate work effectively and set clear expectations.
  • Foster collaboration across disciplines and offices.
  • Provide constructive performance feedback and support professional development.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, communication, and continuous improvement.

Required Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Geomatics, Surveying, Engineering, Geography, GIS, Remote Sensing, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum 10 years of professional industry experience, 5+ years of experience in project management within remote sensing, surveying, geospatial, or infrastructure consulting.
  • Successful track record leading rotorcraft, fixed wing, BVLOS UAS, and mobile LiDAR acquisitions.
  • Demonstrated experience managing projects for top-tier renewables and/or power delivery clients.
  • Strong knowledge of remote sensing data types, workflows, and deliverables.
