Role:
Mechanical Field Engineer

The Mechanical Field Engineer will interface between cross-functional engineering groups and the construction site team. This role is an integral part of the site construction team, responsible for ensuring adherence to engineering construction plans and specifications in support of the project schedule.

Citizenship Requirements: This position requires access to nuclear facilities and information governed by U.S. federal regulations. As a result, applicants must be U.S. citizens to meet eligibility and security clearance requirements.

Your Responsibilities
  • Provide construction site engineering resources and expertise to interpret designs and adjust designs to mitigate construction delays.
  • Facilitate construction and start-up activities.
  • Review design drawings/specifications and perform daily field inspections to ensure compliance with design engineering requirements.
  • Support construction/engineering for required project submittals for approval.
  • Prepare construction-related reports based on job site inspections.
  • Communicate daily with construction and design teams; help resolve problems and issues.
  • Assist in developing, updating, and monitoring planning and project schedules.
  • Perform engineering tasks using standard techniques, procedures, and criteria.
  • Interpret plans and specifications to support construction.
  • Prepare miscellaneous reports for project management to support submittals, designs, and layouts.
  • Coordinate subcontractors’ activities.
  • Document and distribute design changes (redlines) and field modifications with subcontractors.
  • Work with project entities to ensure proper content and assembly of start-up work packages.
  • Collaborate with home office engineering, OEMs, and vendors to resolve issues.
Your Qualifications
  • Minimum of 10 years of related experience with mechanical installations on industrial projects.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or demonstrated combination of education/training and experience.
  • Power Plant experience preferred.
  • Under limited direction, applies industrial mechanical experience using advanced engineering practices.
  • Applies construction standards, concepts, principles, processes, and approaches to complex projects to resolve design issues and support construction schedule.
  • Ability to work with construction and home office teams to expedite RFIs and minimize schedule impacts.
