This is a full-time hybrid role for a Sr. Pre-sales Optical Engineer, with work-from-home flexibility. The role involves collaborating with clients to understand their optical networking needs and providing technical consultations and solutions. Responsibilities include designing optical circuit switching solutions, demonstrating Telescent’s G5 NTM capabilities, creating tailored solutions for customer requirements, and supporting the sales team with technical expertise. The Sr.
Pre-sales Optical Engineer will also work on system testing, assist in proposal development, and facilitate integration strategies for clients.
- Strong knowledge and experience in Optical Circuit Switching Design, WAN Optical Engineering, Data Center Optical Engineering and related fields
- Expertise in Laser technologies and Systems Design principles
- Foundational understanding of Physics as applied to optical networking and system functionality
- Excellent communication skills to translate technical concepts into solutions for client needs
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Optical Engineering, Physics, or related fields
- Experience in pre-sales engineering or technical consulting is preferred
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team and adapt to a hybrid work environment
