Barnard Construction - Bozeman, MT (Home Office) Full‑time | On‑site

Barnard Construction is seeking a detail‑oriented AutoCAD Operator to support our estimating and planning teams at our Home Office in Bozeman, Montana. This role plays a critical part in preparing accurate quantity takeoffs, earthwork and concrete modeling, and high‑quality proposal and planning drawings for major civil and infrastructure pursuits across North America.

Qualifications

* Vocational/technical training beyond high school and/or a B.S. in Civil Engineering, Construction Technology, or a related field.

* Preferred: AA or BS degree in Drafting/CAD

* Experience with GPS and conventional survey techniques

* At least 2 years of experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D (2012 or later).

* Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills.

* Proficiency with computers and integrated software applications.

Responsibilities

* Provide AutoCAD Civil 3D support for quantity takeoffs involving UG pipeline and utilities, civil earthwork, transmission alignments, and concrete structure estimating packages.

* Develop earthwork models, concrete models, alignments, profiles, sections, grading, volumes, and corridor elements in Civil 3D.

* Prepare proposal‑ready drawings, renderings, and planning/site layout drawings for pursuit and bid work.

* Perform takeoff, analysis, and plan‑review tasks with minimal supervision.

* Lead portions of project planning or takeoff workflows on assigned pursuits.

* Produce haul road alignment and embankment documentation that supports estimating and planning activities.

* Work closely with Barnard estimators from initial quotation through proposal development, ensuring scope alignment and technical accuracy.
