Systems Engineer, Wireless / 5G
TEKsystems is seeking a Sandvine/Applogic Systems Engineer to support a major ISP’s wireless network modernization initiatives. This engineer will play a key role in the migration from legacy Sandvine PTS (Policy Traffic Switch) equipment onto the organization’s new Applogic PTS platforms, ensuring a smooth transition of policy enforcement and traffic management functions.
In this role, you will help offload mid‑level engineering tasks from the core systems engineering team, allowing them to focus on two strategic priorities, including modernization of the Applogic policy management environment.
We are looking for an engineer with hands‑on experience working with Sandvine PTS and/or Applogic PTS systems, particularly in environments involving policy‑driven network traffic, subscriber management, or wireless broadband services. Strong systems engineering experience is essential, along with confidence working in Linux‑based network environments, automation workflows, and Applogic policy‑centric traffic platforms.
You will join a collaborative engineering team reporting to the Manager of Systems Delivery.
Key Responsibilities- Support wireless telephony systems, wireless protocols, and overall wireless network operations.
- Assist with automation optimization to improve speed and reliability across wireless and network service delivery.
- Log into Sandvine PTS devices to update scripts, adjust policies, and support traffic shaping efforts.
- Maintain and update ITDR scopes, documentation, and operational readiness materials.
- Provide support for DHCP, DNS, routing, and related tasks tied to wireless service delivery.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to streamline workflows and support project execution.
- Foundational understanding of wireless telephony systems and wireless protocols
- Experience with Sandvine or Applogic
- Experience migrating Sandvine / Applogic PTS equipment
- Experience supporting wireless network infrastructure (telecom, fiber, or similar environments)
- Linux systems administration and networking
- Strong knowledge of IPv4/IPv6, DNS, DHCP
- Layer 3 routing
- Bash scripting
- Red Hat certifications (RHCSA or RHCE)
- Background in wireless systems engineering, wireless policy management, or telecom operations
- Experience with wireless monitoring, wireless alarms, or remote wireless facility systems
- Relevant professional experience in wireless or systems engineering
- Certifications such as:
- Certified Systems Administrator
- RHCSA
- RHCE
This is a Contract position based out of Austin, TX.
Pay And BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $65.00 - $80.00/hr.
