Assistant Site Engineer (OHL) Power T&D

Join Balfour Beatty and be part of a team that powers communities across the UK. We are looking for an Assistant Site Engineer (Overhead Lines OHL) to join our Power Transmission & Distribution (T&D) team, supporting works at:

Location

Crescent Industrial Estate, Station Rd, Nursling, Southampton SO16 0YD

What you’ll be doing
  • Attend periodic project reviews (PRM) and update the Digital Briefcase in accordance with GBL
  • Maintain accurate project records (progress, daily diaries etc.)
  • Prepare both internal/external reports and liaise with stakeholders
  • Initiate good scope/information/configuration management principles
  • Help ensure reports provide relevant information to enable informed, cost‑effective decisions in line with overall strategy
  • Help ensure scope and package assignment supports the team in coordinated working
  • Awareness of discipline
  • Setting out awareness
  • Learn how to read technical information and drawings
  • Numerical skills
  • Ensure a relentless focus on Zero Harm & keep up to date with changes in legislation
  • Partially responsible for the safety and welfare of the general public, employees and supply chain

  • Monitor effectiveness of the H&S Management System and suggest improvement solutions
  • Awareness of welfare requirements

Who We’re Looking For

  • Experience in implementing safe systems of work

The Following Qualities/experience Are Desirable
  • Experience of working on a variety of project types
  • Proficient on O365
  • Holds a current driving license

The role holder is likely to have one or more of the following:

  • Holds or working towards a formal qualification (BSc/MSc) in management/construction or experience equivalent
  • Holds CSCS and SSSTS or Equivalent
