Location:
Must reside within the respective territory in the US

Midwest Territory: primarily ND, IA, WI, IL, IN, MI & Canada (SK, MT, ON)

Eastern Territory: primarily GA, NC, VA, PA, NY, MA & Canada (QC, NB)

Salary: $80,000 - $100,000 + Commission ($20k-$25k, 1st yr GTD) + Car Allowance ($6k)

Description

Field Sales Engineer, Wind Turbine & Industrial Products (AC/DC, electrical components exp. req.) Description

Our client, a global manufacturing organization, is hiring Field Sales Engineers to support each of their Midwest and Eastern territories. You’ll split time between maintaining and expanding existing wind energy accounts (~40-50%) through on-site support, validation, and service cycles, and prospecting new industrial opportunities (~50-60%) by entering manufacturing facilities, identifying applications, and validating product performance through technical discovery. The ideal candidate has 2+ years of technical, consultative sales experience, an engineering mindset, and comfort working around electro-mechanical systems.

You must be comfortable in remote wind farms and industrial plants, including climbing wind turbines for installation and product testing, working at heights, and operating in varying environmental conditions. Success requires strong customer-facing skills, adaptability across hands-on and technical audiences, and the patience to manage long sales cycles that may span 12–24 months. This is a great opportunity with a growing, globally supported organization offering long-term selling potential across multiple applications.

Responsibilities
  • Engage with new and existing accounts to increase product sales and grow market presence
  • Manage long-term sales cycles (~2 years) and product development projects
  • Engage maintenance teams, site leads, purchasing, and owner/operators
  • Travel to customer sites; run on-site discovery; gather photos, measurements, conditions
  • Educate customers on products available and provide products for testing and validation
  • Verify product performance with customers in operation
  • Communicate specification changes in conjunction with manufacturing and engineering teams
  • Drive deals from technical fit through close
  • Collaborate with management to develop a strategic sales plan
  • Present and participate in trade association events
  • Assess market trends and provide market intelligence on competitive activity
Qualifications
  • 2+ years of technical, consultative sales experience required
  • Experience with mechanical systems, AC/DC motors and/or electrical components required
  • Must be willing to work/climb at heights (200+ foot ladders); paid safety training & certification after hire
  • Willingness/ability to travel 50% (mainly US & Canada, occasionally Europe) required
  • Valid passport or ability to obtain upon hire required
