We are seeking a Transmission Line Project Engineering Manager to lead a team of multidisciplinary engineers and technicians. In this role, you will:
- Lead complex, cross‑functional project teams
- Manage a diverse portfolio of challenging projects under our design services and EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) programs
- Ensure project quality, budget compliance, and timely delivery
- Play a key role in client engagement, proposal development, and business growth initiatives
- Manage budgets, schedules, and quality requirements across multiple engineering disciplines
- Coordinate directly with clients and project managers to handle scope changes and maintain alignment
- Review engineering deliverables and oversee discipline integration; may serve as Engineer of Record on assigned projects
- Build strong relationships with project leadership, design teams, and support staff
- Communicate client goals effectively to the project team and tailor project execution accordingly
- Provide strategic input during business development activities, including proposal and estimate preparation
- Travel occasionally for site visits, client meetings, and design reviews
- Apply technical knowledge independently while ensuring consistent compliance with internal quality programs
- Ensure that all project work adheres to industry standards and client‑specific requirements
- Mentor and support junior team members, fostering technical growth and collaboration
Proven experience leading EPC or design services projects for overhead transmission lines, preferably for investor‑owned utilities in the U.S.
Minimum 5 years of hands‑on experience in high‑voltage overhead transmission line design, with expertise in:
- PLS‑CADD
- Line routing and structural loading
- Full project lifecycle management
- Strong communication skills with a client‑focused approach
- In‑depth knowledge of engineering principles, standards, and design guides
- Familiarity with cross‑functional project components such as procurement, subcontracting, permitting, real estate, and construction support
- Experience in proposal development and engineering cost estimation
Professional Engineer (P.E.) license highly preferred
Minimum QualificationsBachelors degree in engineering from an accredited institution
Minimum of 8 years of related engineering experience
Must be able to complete all required pre‑employment screenings, which may include:
- Criminal and civil background checks
- Drug testing
- Motor vehicle record reviews, in accordance with applicable regulations
Most roles in this discipline require current professional engineering registration or licensure in the home office country or active pursuit of such credentials. Additional licensure may be necessary when working in other jurisdictions, subject to approval by division leadership.
