As a Site Engineer, you will play a key role in successful project delivery — from planning and design through to commissioning and handover — ensuring works are delivered safely, sustainably, on programme and within budget.

What you’ll be doing
  • Managing and delivering allocated work packages to agreed programme and cost
  • Interpreting and implementing engineered solutions and technical drawings into site delivery
  • Setting teams to work and supervising works to ensure right‑first‑time execution
  • Writing and reviewing RAMS and issuing safety documentation
  • Maintaining a relentless focus on Zero Harm and promoting a positive safety culture
  • Monitoring compliance with H&S legislation, undertaking audits and supporting incident responses
  • Managing subcontractors, including progress monitoring and providing direct instruction where required
  • Liaising with Project Managers, Construction Managers, Project Engineers and functional leads
  • Maintaining accurate site records, daily diaries and preparing internal/external reports
  • Supporting procurement planning to ensure materials and resources meet programme requirements
  • Monitoring KPIs, contributing to quality assurance activities and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Supporting the development and updating of resource‑loaded programmes
Who we’re looking for
  • Proven experience as a Site Engineer within power, utilities, construction or civil engineering
  • Strong understanding of health, safety and environmental requirements on live sites
  • Experience managing subcontractors and coordinating site teams
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and implement engineered solutions
  • Experience writing and reviewing RAMS
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage time, cost, quality and safety simultaneously
  • Effective communicator, confident liaising with internal teams, supply chain and stakeholders
  • A proactive, solutions‑focused mindset with the confidence to elevate risks and issues appropriately
  • Relevant engineering qualification (HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent experience)
