Mace is seeking a full‑time Associate Director – Estimating for Life Science and Manufacturing and Technology projects to work directly with our clients on capital projects.Note:
This role will be 12 months of remote work and will change to full‑time on‑site in the client facility.

- Managing a team preparing estimates and cost planning for a portfolio and/or projects.
- Driving the delivery of measurement exercises, including preparation of schedules of quantities.
- Developing strategic review of prospects and fact finding on key related elements.
- Managing benchmarking exercises to test the estimate.
- Overseeing the quality assurance of estimates within the function ensuring they are fit for purpose.
- Presenting the estimate to key stakeholders demonstrating a full knowledge and understanding of the project.
- Providing experts estimating and risk modelling data to leadership roles interpreting and providing recommendations for both a technical and non‑technical audience.
- Analyzing quotations as part of the compilation of the estimate.
- Providing senior management and stakeholders with estimating analysis insight, modelling scenarios solutions and options, leveraging commercial knowledge.
- Providing leadership and direction, managing and mentoring team.
- Attending discussions with clients and stakeholders for new opportunities and representing Mace.
- Working collaboratively toward the common goal of net zero carbon transition, and sharing responsibility for the proactive identification and management of the associated carbon emissions and reductions during the delivery of work.
- Degree in construction, engineering, or architecture; or any degree with construction/design‑related experience.
- Consistent cost estimating experience with a strong focus on life science and/or industrial manufacturing projects.
- Expert user of screen take‑off (OST) software or similar industry software.
- Professional cost estimating certification (preferred).
- Understanding the design process, how an estimate is put together and have excellent Excel skills.
- Communicating effectively and presenting materials to key stakeholders.
- Understanding cost breakdown structure (CBS) and work breakdown structure (WBS) and having participated in the development of cost models, including (amongst others) indirect costs, whole life, and prelims.
