REI's expert staff, including certified engineers and technicians, contributes to advancing safety through active involvement in ASTM F-24 code committee, NAARSO, and AIMS Safety Seminars. REI is dedicated to promoting safety, education, and reliability across the amusement sector.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Roller Coaster Inspector. The position is a remote position that will require travel (20 - 30 weeks per year). The Roller Coaster Inspector will perform thorough inspections, safety assessments, and maintenance evaluations of amusement rides, including roller coasters, according to industry safety standards and regulations. The role includes reviewing mechanical systems, conducting detailed safety inspections, preparing detailed inspection reports, and ensuring compliance with operational guidelines.

Collaborating with maintenance teams and facility operators, the inspector will also provide guidance on improvements to enhance ride safety and functionality.

Qualifications
  • Proficient in mechanical inspections, safety analysis, and mechanical operations
  • Experience in mechanical testing, including acceleration measurement equipment and evaluation
  • Familiarity with maintenance and safety standards, including the ability to conduct safety assessments and prepare ride certification documents
  • Strong technical writing skills to prepare detailed inspection reports and manuals
  • Proficiency with safety regulations, ASTM F-24 standards, and other industry codes
  • Certifications such as AWS Certified Welding Inspector, NAARSO Certified Amusement Ride Safety Inspector (Level I), or AIMS Certified Maintenance/Operations Technician (Level I) are highly desirable
  • Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills for liaising with clients, maintenance teams, and regulatory authorities
