PLC Technician

• Perform Control System inspections of electromechanical equipment/rotating equipment with Clients and client‑designated representatives.
• Lead and/or assist customers with Electrical and/or Instrumentation requirements (space, labor requirements, tools, disposal of test water, etc.) to support commissioning activities, operational/startup spares and Operating and Maintenance Practices.
• Participate in Customer Factory Acceptance Tests and related Control Systems reviews.
• Perform on‑site programming for control systems and assist on electrical installation and troubleshooting.
• Work closely with Automation and E&I Leaders regarding project execution and continuous improvement.

• 2–10 years of experience with PLCs.
• Software/Hardware PLC programming experience preferred.
• Rockwell Automation systems including Smart MCC, VFD, Control Logix PLC Platform, Factory Talk SE, etc.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license.

• Experience in Commissioning, Construction or Services.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent from an accredited university or college.
• Familiarity with setup, installation, configuration, calibration and/or maintenance of instrumentation used in water treatment processes.
• Oil and Gas experience.
• Electrical experience and know‑how (hands‑on, reading and interpreting drawings, etc.), particularly with electrical panels and water treatment equipment.
• Ability to plan multiple priorities and focus on the most important ones.
• Ability to adapt quickly to new problems, clients, and situations.
• Training in Lock‑Out/Tag‑Out procedures preferred.

Salary Range: $38–$55/hr the actual salary offered is dependent on various factors including location, candidate’s knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience.

This is a traveling consulting position (full benefits, all expenses reimbursed). Candidates can work anywhere in the US but will travel heavily to customer sites nationwide (approximately 3 weeks on‑site, 1 week work from home). Initial focus will be in Texas and Michigan.
