Job Purpose
Responsible for developing and managing the Supplier Development Process within a process-based Quality Department. This role serves as the focal point for supplier quality and development timing, ensuring alignment with program milestones and successful launches of new programs.
Responsibilities- Lead the Supplier Development Process from concept through production readiness.
- Manage supplier APQP/PPAP deliverables to meet OEM and internal requirements.
- Evaluate and approve supplier process capabilities (capacity, 4M changes, CQI compliance, etc.).
- Drive early supplier involvement in design and development to ensure manufacturability and quality.
- Coordinate cross-functional reviews (Engineering, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Quality) to validate supplier readiness.
- Monitor and track supplier timing in alignment with overall program schedules.
- Conduct supplier audits and assessments to verify compliance with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and customer-specific requirements. Including FMEA/SPC/MSA.
- Provide technical guidance to suppliers for process improvement, defect prevention, and root cause analysis.
- Serve as the primary quality liaison between suppliers and internal teams during new program development.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or related field.
- Minimum 5–6 years of experience in Supplier Quality, Supplier Development, or Manufacturing Engineering (automotive preferred).
- Strong knowledge of APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, SPC
, and problem-solving tools (8D, 5-Why). - Familiarity with EV OEM quality requirements (RVIAN, Ford, GM, Stellantis, Tesla, etc.).
- Experience with supplier audits, process capability studies, and capacity planning.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and drive results in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
- Process-driven mindset with attention to detail.
- Proficient in quality systems and statistical analysis tools.
- Effective in supplier relationship management and conflict resolution.
- Self‑motivated, organized, and results-oriented.
- Excellent Communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Problem solving skills to meet project time managing.
- Ability to prioritize tasks.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Frequent office setting with occasional need to be on manufacturing floor, warehouse, or foundry.
- Occasional requirement of PPE.
- Constant use of computer and office equipment.
- Occasional use of stairs or uneven surfaces.
- Constant sitting and occasional walking.
- Rare lifting, carrying or pushing/pulling up to 10 lbs.
