As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for project management of various design and construction projects within Utilities Delivery. Primary duties include:
Design and manage construction of infrastructure at landfills and other facilities, including preparation of construction drawings, obtaining all required approvals, materials listing and tendering specifications for construction contracts.
Report on projects including progress report, tangible capital asset, and work breakdown structure.
Develop Terms of Reference and direct consultants involved in studies and projects related to Utilities Delivery infrastructure and asset management.
Qualifications
A degree in Engineering.
You must have at least 3 years of relevant professional engineering experience obtained after receiving your P. Eng. Designation and a current licensure as a Professional Engineer with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA) complete with practicing status OR licensure and practising status by the first day of work.

Experience in civil engineering design and environmental engineering projects is required.
Training or practical experience in solid waste management, environmental monitoring and data interpretation is also required.
A valid Class 5 Driver's License (or provincial equivalent) with no more than 6 demerits, or a Class 5 Graduated Driver's License (GDL) with no more than 4 demerits, with no current suspensions or charges pending.
Access to a personal vehicle for occasional business use is required.
Previous experience with project management, and/or asset management will be considered an asset.
Strong analytical skills, accuracy and attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills and demonstrated leadership, negotiation and time management skills.
Ability to obtain a City of Calgary Operator's permit.
Working Conditions
Occasional site visits will include exposure to odors, traffic, and various weather conditions.

This position may be eligible to work from home for at least part of the time as one of several flexible work options available to City employees. These arrangements depend on the operational requirements of the role, employee suitability, and are subject to change based on operational needs and corporate direction.
