A power system engineer uses various protocols for grid communication (like DNP3, IEC 61850 for SCADA/Substations), analysis (load flow, fault studies), and operations (coordination of relays), focusing on ensuring grid stability, reliability, and safety by managing generation, transmission, and distribution, adhering to standards (IEEE/ANSI) and modeling system behavior for planning, protection, and control. Proficient in Electric Transmission or Distribution EMS / SCADA / Implementation.
Qualifications- Expert in C++, Java, and Linux.
- Fair understanding of SQL/PLSQL.
- Hands‑on experience implementing GE EMS/SCADA or any equivalent SCADA from Siemens, OSI, ABB, Schneider, etc.
- Knowledge of communication protocols (data exchange), system analysis protocols (modeling & study), or operational/protection protocols (rules of operation).
