Eligible office locations for this role include Fresno.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead daily biological and environmental compliance monitoring on renewable energy and linear infrastructure construction sites.
  • Coordinate and direct teams of field monitors to ensure adherence to permit conditions and environmental commitments.
  • Conduct pre‑construction surveys, construction monitoring, and post‑construction compliance inspections.
  • Monitor for special‑status species, sensitive habitats, and jurisdictional resources in accordance with project approvals.
  • Implement avoidance and minimization measures consistent with CEQA, NEPA, ESA, CESA, and Clean Water Act requirements.
  • Serve as the primary field liaison with contractors, project managers, and agency representatives regarding environmental compliance.
  • Prepare and review compliance documentation, including daily logs and summary reports, ensuring accuracy and QA/QC consistency.
What You’ll Bring
  • B.A./B.S. in Biology, Ecology, Environmental Science, Natural Resources, or related field.
  • 2–5+ years of environmental consulting experience with substantial construction monitoring and field‑based compliance work.
  • Working knowledge of California biological resources, special‑status species, and environmental permitting frameworks (CEQA, NEPA, ESA/CESA, Clean Water Act).
  • Experience supporting renewable energy, utilities, or infrastructure projects.
  • Strong technical writing skills and attention to detail in compliance documentation and reporting.
  • Ability to lead field efforts, coordinate with contractors and agencies, and work effectively in active construction environments.
  • Willingness to travel and work extended hours in outdoor environments and varying weather conditions.
Nice to Have (Optional)
  • Experience serving as Lead Monitor or Environmental Inspector on active construction sites.
  • Burrowing owl and/or Swainson’s hawk special‑status species survey and monitoring experience.
  • Certification as a Qualified SWPPP Practitioner (QSP) or similar environmental compliance credential.
