Commodity Manager

• Lead supply chain and sourcing activities for assigned commodity portfolio.
• Coordinate supply improvement projects with sustaining engineering and lead project review meetings.
• Consistently improve supplier performance in terms of delivery to ensure global supply chain networks meet operational and sales needs.
• Coordinate Supply Chain programs with Quality, Engineering, Operations, and site tactical buyers.
• Drive cost savings and working‑capital improvements (DPO/Inventory) through negotiations, eSourcing and other supplier selection activities.
• Lead reviews with suppliers utilizing supplier metrics and implement programs to improve quality, delivery, cost, risk management, technology and commercial terms.
• Ensure tracking and monitoring for suppliers with performance issues.
• Drive internal and external accountability for improvement opportunities.
• Lead projects related to assigned commodities, suppliers, logistics, etc. to improve overall supply chain KPIs.
• Manage strategic operations and supply chain projects and initiatives.

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, engineering or related field (equivalent experience may be considered).
• Two (2) or more years of experience in procurement or a related function.
• Strong project management, organizational, communication and data‑analysis skills.
• Self‑directed, team‑oriented and able to evaluate and handle multiple priorities.
• Outstanding strategic agility and business acumen.
• Strong PowerPoint and Excel analysis skills, including advanced financial functions and pivot tables.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.

This role is based fully onsite in Cudahy, WI and is not eligible for hybrid or remote work opportunities.

Cudahy is a quaint community located in Milwaukee County, surrounded by parkland, major transportation access and city attractions. It offers a small‑town feel with access to Milwaukee’s cultural amenities, sports teams, and nearby airports.

Vilter, with a 150‑year history, is part of our company’s industrial refrigeration and gas compression business. Approximately 300 employees work in Cudahy, offering many advancement opportunities within the location.
