About the CompanyOur client is a well-established, family-owned power consultancy with a strong reputation in electrical and power infrastructure delivery. They are now making a strategic expansion into the Data Center sector, beginning with their first ground-up data center project in New Mexico and with significant investment planned to scale across the United States.

The OpportunityWe are seeking a Data Center Estimator with proven experience bidding multiple data center projects within the mission‑critical sector. This individual will play a pivotal role in supporting preconstruction strategy, cost competitiveness, and future pipeline growth.
The position is based at the company’s HQ in St. Petersburg, Florida (Monday–Thursday onsite, optional remote Friday). Site visits will be required as projects progress.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and prepare detailed estimates for data center projects, including electrical and power infrastructure scopes.
- Review drawings, specifications, and bid documents to ensure accurate and competitive pricing.
- Develop quantity take‑offs and labour/material cost analysis.
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, and leadership teams to align estimating strategy with company objectives.
- Identify risks, value engineering opportunities, and cost optimisation strategies.
- Support proposal submissions and client presentations where required.
- Mentor and support the development of junior estimating talent.
- 3–10 years of estimating experience within the data center construction sector.
- Recent experience with a recognised major player in the data center industry.
- Demonstrated experience bidding multiple data center projects.
- Strong understanding of electrical construction and mission‑critical infrastructure.
- Stable employment history (maximum 3 roles in the last 10 years preferred for office‑based roles).
- Motivated self‑starter with a “winner’s mentality.”
- Strong leadership qualities with the ability to mentor junior estimators.
- Collaborative team player with a growth mindset.
- Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, high‑growth environment.
- Strong communication and analytical skills.
- Based in or willing to relocate to St. Petersburg, Florida.
- Ability to travel to project sites as required.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States (confirm sponsorship requirements).
