Join Our Team as a Field Service Engineer:

Join our team as a Field Service Engineer, where you’ll deliver hands‑on robotic programming expertise and technical problem‑solving directly to our customers. In this dynamic role, you’ll lead high‑quality system integrations, support installations, deliver customer training, and make independent, data‑driven decisions to keep automation systems performing at their best. You’ll spend most of your time on‑site at customer facilities, with in‑office collaboration as needed, ensuring each project runs smoothly and each customer is supported with top‑tier technical excellence.

What

You Get to Do:
  • Travel across the Midwest and beyond (about 90%) for on‑site customer support, from quick one‑day visits to multi‑week system engagements.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and programming on a variety of robotic systems and controllers.
  • Deliver expert technical support and customer training while championing consistent programming and process standards.
  • Serve as the on‑site robotics specialist, prioritizing Acieta systems in production and ensuring fast, high‑quality service.
  • Keep the Field Service Manager informed with clear, detailed updates on customer needs, project status, and any roadblocks.
  • Maintain organized service documentation and software records to enable seamless follow‑up by any technician.
  • Partner with technicians on larger system builds and installations, sharing knowledge to support team and project success.
  • Contribute insights that improve product quality, reduce programming or build costs, and strengthen customer satisfaction.
  • Support sales through customer interactions, technical expertise, and aftermarket engagement.
  • Complete accurate Field Service Reports, ensure proper sign‑offs, and uphold all customer and company safety standards.
  • Performs other duties as assigned, which are reasonably related to the scope of the position and necessary for business operations.
What You Bring to the Team:
  • A solid technical foundation: a high school diploma required; engineering degree or equivalent automation experience (2–4 years with PLCs, HMIs, motion control, robots, or similar systems) preferred.
  • Strong communication skills — able to interpret technical documents, collaborate with customers, and clearly present information to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Confident with math and problem‑solving, applying practical calculations and analyzing complex technical instructions with ease.
  • A valid driver’s license and the readiness to travel up to 90% domestically and internationally.
  • Hands‑on automation expertise, including PLC/HMI/robot programming, electrical and software troubleshooting, and working safely with 480V systems.
  • Ability to read and update electrical schematics, use voltmeters and diagnostic tools, and work with pneumatics, hydraulics, and motor‑driven mechanical systems.
  • Experience with Allen‑Bradley platforms, plus bonus points for exposure to Mitsubishi, Omron, Siemens, FANUC, Kawasaki, ABB, Motoman, Cognex, Keyence, or similar technologies.
  • A solution‑driven mindset with excellent troubleshooting skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, self‑directed service environment.
  • Comfort working alongside highly technical peers and making independent, data‑driven decisions while keeping project managers informed.
