Power Systems Engineer - Modeling

Overview

We are designing the grid of the future!

Conduct I  Dynamic Modeling studies which are particularly related to existing and future ERCOT and other regional reliability standards. This position will have specific emphasis placed on I  plant dynamic modeling.

Howyou can make an impact:

• Perform detailed bulk power system studies using various power system software such as PSCAD, PSSE, and TSAT.
• Conduct I  modeling: steady state, short circuit and dynamic.
• Perform various compliance technical assessments on I  facility rating, protection coordination, ride through assessment.
• Process, generate and maintain data as required for other engineering related studies.
• Prepare technical study reports for all studies performed.
• Take responsibility for the timely completion of projects assigned while meeting all project quality and budget objectives.
• Identify training needs and present them to the Engineering Manageras needed.
• Perform other duties, as assigned.

Bring your passion, here's what’s needed:

• Master’s degree in electrical engineering with an emphasis in power systems
• 1 - 2 years of experience as a power systems engineer
• Experience with performing power system impact studies such as Steady State, Short Circuit, and Dynamic Stability
• Experience with power systems software such as PSCAD, PSSE, and TSAT
• Experience with automating/programing in Python
