The Texas Biomedical Device Center supports active projects in vagus nerve stimulation, recovery from neurological injuries, tinnitus therapies, and implantable neural devices. The Research Biomedical Engineer II will work collaboratively with a team of engineers and scientists to develop biomedical devices for eventual deployment as clinical medical therapy devices. They will also support the development and management of clinical trials by assisting with regulatory submissions, maintaining essential documents, and ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and university policies.
Collaborate with investigators and research staff to facilitate timely study start‑up, amendments, and reporting requirements.
Bachelor's degree in biomedical engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, engineering physics, neuroscience, or a related field plus 3 years' experience in biomedical engineering or related field;
Master's degree in biomedical engineering, neuroscience, or a related field and 1 year of experience in biomedical engineering or related field.
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in biomedical engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, software engineering, engineering physics, neuroscience, or a related field plus 6 years' experience in biomedical engineering or related field;
Master's degree in biomedical engineering, neuroscience, or a related field and 2 years of experience in biomedical engineering or related field;
Ph.D. in biomedical engineering, neuroscience, or equivalent.
To the extent this position requires the holder to research, work on, or have access to critical infrastructure as defined in Section 117.001(2) of the Texas Business and Commerce Code, the ability to maintain the security or integrity of the critical infrastructure is a minimum qualification to be hired and to continue to be employed in the position.
