Cloud Native Kong Engineer

The Cloud Native Kong Engineer will be responsible for supporting and engineering API management solutions with a strong focus on the Kong API Platform.

The role involves working closely with team members to design and implement API solutions within a cloud environment.

The position requires hands‑on experience with API management tools such as Kong, Apigee, and AWS API services.

The engineer will contribute to cloud projects, support on‑call needs, and help ensure seamless API functionality across multi‑cloud environments.

• Support engineering activities related to the Kong API Platform and broader API management solutions.
• Collaborate with team members to design and implement API solutions within cloud‑based projects.
• Work on API development, configuration, deployment, and operational support.
• Participate in on‑call rotation to support critical API services as needed.
• Assist in delivering scalable API solutions in a multi‑cloud environment.
• Contribute to overall API governance, documentation, and best practices.

• 4–5 years of experience in API management or related engineering roles.
• Working knowledge of the Kong API Platform (required).
• Experience with API management tools such as Apigee, Kong, or AWS API services.
• Strong understanding of API engineering concepts and cloud‑native architectures.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non‑technical teams.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work within multi‑cloud environments.

• Experience working on cloud transformation or cloud‑native engineering projects.
• Broad exposure to complex API architectures or enterprise API ecosystems.
• Strong problem‑solving abilities applicable to API performance, scalability, and reliability.
