Job Description
As an Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing electrical systems, including panel layouts, wiring diagrams, and control schematics. You will program, test, and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, and related automation systems while developing and maintaining control narratives, I/O lists, and detailed functional specifications.
Manufacturing Electrical EngineerAs an Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing electrical systems, including panel layouts, wiring diagrams, and control schematics. You will program, test, and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, and related automation systems while developing and maintaining control narratives, I/O lists, and detailed functional specifications.
Responsibilities- Work with an inventory (ERP/MRP) system to create, revise or delete components and assemblies.
- Design and develop electrical systems, including panel layouts, wiring diagrams, and control schematics.
- Program, test, and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, and related automation systems.
- Develop and maintain control narratives, I/O lists, and detailed functional specifications.
- Collaborate with engineers, designers, and drafters to produce detailed electrical designs and drawing packages.
- Ensure designs meet applicable electrical codes, safety standards, and engineering best practices.
- Review and redline construction and manufacturing packages for technical accuracy and clarity.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support system integration, testing, and commissioning.
- Conduct power and control system troubleshooting, diagnostics, and field support as needed.
- Participate in the design and implementation of SCADA, remote monitoring, or telemetry systems if applicable.
- Maintain documentation of system configurations, revisions, and updates throughout the product lifecycle.
- Assist with product development by integrating strategies that support new features or performance improvements.
- Proficiency in PLC programming (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Schneider Electric).
- Experience with HMI development tools (e.g., Factory Talk, Ignition, Wonderware).
- Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable ANSI/UL standards.
- Ability to design and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control panel layouts.
- Strong understanding of control system fundamentals, including sensors, actuators, relays, and VFDs.
- Experience with power system analysis tools (ETAP, SKM) and drafting software (AutoCAD, Bluebeam Revu).
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively across engineering disciplines and support project schedules.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or related discipline.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in electrical engineering or a closely related role.
- Experience with control panel design, PLC/HMI programming, and system troubleshooting required.
- Familiarity with industrial automation and instrumentation systems.
- Experience in energy systems (e.g., Renewable Energy, UPS, BESS) is strongly preferred.
- Experience in Electrical Manufacturing Design is preferred.
- Thorough knowledge of engineering practices, design details, international codes and standards, procedures, and specifications, including the National Electrical Code and other applicable ANSI standards.
This is a Permanent position based out of Lenexa, KS.
Pay And BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $110000.00/yr.
