MDG, Inc. is a growing civil engineering consulting firm specializing in airport planning, design, and construction administration throughout Florida and beyond. We are seeking an experienced Airport Engineer with a minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in aviation-related projects to join our dynamic and growing team.
This is a remote position
, with preference given to candidates located in Florida due to the nature of our projects and coordination with FAA, FDOT, and airport clients across the state.
- Lead and support the design and development of airport infrastructure projects, including runways, taxiways, aprons, hangars, drainage systems, and airside/landside improvements.
- Prepare engineering reports, construction plans, specifications, and technical documentation in accordance with FAA Advisory Circulars, FDOT standards, and applicable federal, state, and local requirements.
- Coordinate closely with FAA, FDOT, airport sponsors, permitting agencies, and subconsultants.
- Assist with grant-funded project coordination and ensure compliance with FAA and FDOT funding requirements.
- Support construction administration activities, including responding to RFIs, reviewing submittals, and conducting site visits as needed.
- Collaborate with CAD designers and project managers to deliver high-quality, on-schedule deliverables.
- Participate in business development and marketing efforts, including proposal preparation, client meetings, and relationship building.
- Represent MDG in industry events and client engagements to help grow the firm’s presence and market share.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in airport engineering or aviation-related civil design.
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license preferred but not required.
- In-depth knowledge of FAA Advisory Circulars and FDOT Specifications.
- Experience with airfield design standards, pavement design, grading, and stormwater systems.
- Excellent knowledge of design and visualization software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar.
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment while collaborating effectively with a team.
