Job Title:
Controls Engineer
As a Controls Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in analyzing and supporting the development of flight control systems using flight test data and simulation models. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams to enhance aircraft programs and contribute to the safety and efficiency of advanced flight operations.
Responsibilities- Analyze and support the development of flight control systems using flight test data and simulation models.
- Evaluate control laws, vehicle response, and system performance using MATLAB scripts and Simulink models.
- Support 6
DOF simulations to assess aircraft dynamics, stability, and control behavior. - Collaborate with flight test engineers to correlate real‑world flight data with analytical and simulated results.
- Assist in troubleshooting control system anomalies and performance issues identified during testing.
- Contribute to simulation‑based evaluation efforts that support autonomy, advanced flight operations, or system enhancements.
- Work cross‑functionally with controls, simulation, and autonomy teams to support aircraft programs.
- At least 3 years of experience working with flight control systems for aircraft or aerospace vehicles.
- At least 3 years of experience analyzing or supporting flight test data.
- Professional experience with MATLAB scripting.
- At least 3 years of experience using Simulink for control system modeling or analysis.
- At least 3 years of experience with 6
DOF vehicle dynamics and aircraft motion modeling.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with path planning, ROS 2, and GNC.
This is a Contract position based out of Los Angeles, CA.
Pay And BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $55.00 - $66.00/hr.
