Role OverviewThis role will be a part of our Modernization Team and will be responsible for the design of low- and medium-voltage switch gear assemblies/systems and associated equipment in compliance with IEEE/ANSI, IEC, and NEC/NFPA 70E standards, focusing on Power systems. The chosen candidate will aid in the engineering of customized low- and medium-voltage equipment.
Responsibilities- Design and coordinate electrical control and protection schemes for low- and medium-voltage switch gear equipment, including interfaces and interconnections for new and existing retrofill and retrofit applications.
- Create all engineering documents such as drawings, one-lines, foundation drawings, wire lists, and bills of materials for customer approval.
- Take full ownership of managing and processing large electrical projects without constant supervision, coordinating engineering activities, ensuring timely completion, and maintaining high quality standards.
- Coordinate with plant engineering teams for smoother execution of the projects.
- Engage in strategy discussions with sales, quotation, and project management teams for significant projects to formulate successful plans that meet project objectives and client needs.
- Examine all customer-supplied documents, including technical specifications, customer one-liners, and other materials, to develop effective and harmonized solutions.
- Conduct thorough order reviews to ensure accuracy, completeness, compliance with project specifications, technical requirements, and company standards.
- Design control schemes using PLCs and/or relays to provide efficient solutions to customers.
- Create, test, and troubleshoot electrical schemes.
- Use Modbus communications, utility metering, and circuit monitoring applications.
- Familiarity with Modbus and TCP/IP communication protocols, RS-485, Ethernet, and other third-party interfaces to support Schneider Eco-Structure Asset Advisor.
- Support production and quality assurance teams for manufacturing excellence.
- Perform site visits, conducting assessments of the condition and ratings of existing equipment.
- Support testing, validation, and troubleshooting of electrical systems to ensure performance and reliability.
- Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Four years of progressive experience after obtaining a bachelor’s degree.
- Experience in electrical design of switch gear, switchboard, or other power distribution products.
- Design experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with low‑voltage / medium‑voltage systems.
- Proficiency in creating engineering documents such as BOMs.
- Ability to handle production issues.
- Power systems knowledge.
- Order review proficiency.
