The ESoT Content Developer is part of a multidisciplinary team who are responsible for developing and maintaining the digital building blocks that are used by technical project execution teams in the automated logistics industry. The ESoT Content Developer is primarily focused on supporting software libraries and creating tooling but is also engaged in aspects of system design and layout standardization. The role also provides opportunities to display leadership, and opportunities for promotion.
This role may involve some travel from time to time, both domestically and internationally.
- Programming content into Vanderlande’s custom engineering tooling suite known internally as ESoT (Engineering Suite of Tools) based on product documentation and input from the engineering departments
- Create other software tooling to help increase Engineering efficiency.
- Collaborate with ESoT colleagues internationally to resolve issues and provide support.
- Rapidly correct bugs and errors in ESoT software and/or content libraries.
- Assist in ESoT content development project/task prioritization and planning
- Periodic releases of building block libraries and supplying the associated support
- Support and training of end users in the use of ESoT and other engineering software tooling.
The software and tooling being created are used by Vanderlande in large scale logistics projects for airports, parcel delivery, warehousing, distribution, retail, and e-commerce. Some example Vanderlande products include Shoe Sorters, Cross-Belt Sorters, Pop-up Transfer Sorters, Tilt-Tray Sorters, Bomb-bay Sorters, various types of Belt Conveyor, Individual Carrier Systems (ICS), AGVs/AMRs, Robotics, Custom Software, and more. This role will focus on the equipment from the airports and parcel market segments.

Success:A successful candidate will have a keen aptitude for programming, but also have knowledge of mechanical and electrical design. Success in this role involves becoming familiar with the mechanical and electrical operation of Vanderlande equipment and becoming familiar with key accounts and their different requirements for equipment and the application of the equipment. A successful candidate will also have to learn about system design theory and operation, as well as how the different departments within Vanderlande operate.
A successful candidate will demonstrate a keen intuition for when to attempt to solve problems on their own and when to enlist the help of other experienced engineers.

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Computer Science or similar degree (or 2+ years related job experience)
