Principal Engineer​/Architect; Azure

Contract: £600–700/day (Inside IR35), Fully Remote, 12 months

We’re working on behalf of a leading insurance and financial services client to find a hands‑on Azure Principal Architect/Engineer who can design, steer, and deliver complex Azure solutions
. This is a fully remote contract where you’ll influence cloud strategy, guide engineering teams, and implement secure, scalable, high‑availability solutions.

• Lead the design of high‑level and low‑level Azure solutions
  , ensuring security and scalability.
• Act as a technical authority on Azure
  , advising on architecture, best practices, and emerging technologies.
• Deliver and support solutions using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), scripting (Bash/Power Shell), and Azure Dev Ops pipelines
  .
• Collaborate with stakeholders to clarify requirements and ensure solutions meet business needs
  .
• Mentor and upskill engineering teams while driving adoption of cloud‑native technologies and containerization
  .
• Lead key projects, report progress, and influence critical architectural decisions
  .

• Proven experience designing and delivering secure Azure solutions across PaaS, Serverless, and IaaS.
• 5+ years in Azure platform engineering or architecture

• Strong communication skills to translate complex solutions to stakeholders
  .
• Experience with cloud‑native deployments and containerization
  .
• Azure certifications (AZ-305 or AZ-400) and TOGAF are desirable.
